Bourbon Vanilla BBQ Sauce
Ingredients:
1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup tomato paste
1/4 cup molasses
1 Tablespoons Worcestershire
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
2 tbsp Vain Mexican Vanilla extracted in KY Bourbon
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
optional: a few pinches of cayenne for extra heat, if desired
Directions:
Combine ingredients. Whisk all ingredients (except vanilla) together in a medium saucepan.
Simmer. Cook over medium-high heat until the sauce reaches a simmer. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer (uncovered) for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce has slightly thickened. Off the heat, add Vain Vanilla. Stir well.
Serve. Use the sauce immediately, or refrigerate in a sealed container for up to 1 week.
