Cherry Almond Buckle

Ingredients:

1 1/3 cups AP flour

1 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp. salt

1/2 cup butter, softened 

3/4 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1/2 cup full-fat sour cream

1 1/2 tsp. Vain Costa Rican Vanilla in Amaretto - 10th Anniversary Edition

1 and 1/2 cups halved fresh cherries


Crumb Topping

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

2 Tbsp butter, melted

1/4 cup sliced almonds

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch deep dish pie dish.

With an electric mixer, beat the butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs, sour cream, and almond extract. Beat until combined. Mix in the dry ingredients. Fold in cherries, do not overmix. Spoon into prepared pan.

Mix flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon together. Stir in melted butter until crumbs form. Sprinkle mixture and almonds evenly on top of batter.

Bake for 38-45 minutes. Until toothpick comes out clean. Cool before slicing.
